Allergic reactions commonly associated with cat allergies are significantly reduced with the Siberian Cat breed.
A decrease in dander makes the Siberian Breed uniquely desirable among cat owners. Please note, reactions will vary based on the individual.
According to recent studies, most allergic reactions that people have to cats are caused by a small glyco-protein called "Fel d-1". This protein is produced only in cats, and is excreted via their saliva and sebaceous glands. When a cat grooms itself that protein is spread throughout the cats fur, which then breaks off and becomes airborne, contaminating the air and causing the allergic reaction within owners.
Because Siberian Cats produce less Fel d-1 than other breeds, allergic reactions in people can be greatly reduced or eliminated. Research on this study provides scientific findings supporting this claim. These studies can be found at (dpi.com/2306-7381/4/4/63/htm).
